Dwayne Johnson makes his rap debut with single “Face Off” in TechN9ne’s new album, ‘ASIN9NE’

Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, has successfully made his rap debut with the single ‘Face Off’ produced by Aaron Dontez Yates, aka Tech N9ne. This can be described as an alliance of the most successful independent rapper and an A-list Hollywood actor.

The actor took to social media to talk about the news and show his excitement: “Grateful and humbled to make my rap debut with these hip-hop kings as I was just trying to deliver a rhythm, flow, energy, and intensity that didn’t suck.” The Rock also posted “And I’m loving all of your HYPE and EXCITEMENT around the song!” in another post. Variety.com has been calling this collaboration a “history-making career move.”

Dwayne Johnson’s association with music has been little. He appeared in the music video of his friend, a Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean’s 2000 song ‘It Doesn’t Matter. The title of the song is reportedly Dwayne’s favorite catchphrase, which he shouts once in the video. He did not sing or rap in the respective song.

Johnson and TechN9ne had met a few years ago. “A huge fan of the independent rapper, Johnson, who is the most followed American on the planet, has been sharing Tech N9ne’s music on his social media for years,” Variety.com reported.

The single “Face Off” is a part of TechN9ne’s album, ‘ASIN9NE’, produced by his studio label, Strange Music. The single also features Joey Cool and King Iso.

Recently, Dwayne Johnson also posted: “#2 RAP SONG IN THE COUNTRY!!! BLOWN. AWAY. In 24hrs our new song #FACEOFF is already #2 on the @iTunes rap charts!!! Fucking insane reactions!THANK YOU ALL!!! For years @therealtechn9ne & I wanted to collaborate and make an iconic hype song that was  UNAPOLOGETIC and spoke the truth.”
